What characterises a good leader? A survey of organisational leaders in Poland

Abstract: The article attempts to define the characteristics of a contemporary manager that determine being a leader in the 21st-century organisation. The way to achieve the assumed goal of the research was to conduct an own study among the managers of organisations in the sector of small and medium-sized enterprises in Poland. 48 top managers in 48 organisations were examined, obtaining information from them on the work, characteristics, principles, and roles of the organisation leader.
