“…Acute renal failure with Hank pain and/or patchy renal vasoconstric tion associated with NSAIDs have been re ported [2). We also reported acute renal fail ure due to patchy vasoconstriction associat ed with rhabdomyolysis [3], hypotension [4], and analgesics used in a cirrhotic patient [5], Diclofenac in this patient appears to have induced acute renal failure which resulted in an increase in plasma volume, leading to generalized edema and high blood pressure, probably associated with the development of patchy renal vasoconstriction. It is suggested by the narrowing of the renal arterial branches observed by renal angiography without abrupt cutoff signs.…”

“…In an experimental model using the 133Xe wash-out, Hollenberg et al suspected patchy vasoconstriction in the recovery phase of acute tubular necrosis (12). Radionuclide imaging (Ci "m Tc-methylene diphosphonate) (13), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) (14) and renal sonography ( 15) have been reported to be useful in the diagnostic procedure without a contrast medium. However,in the present case, MRI, radio imaging and renal sonography were not effective for the differential diagnosis between renal ischemia and renal infarction. Enhanced CTscan maybe the most useful for the diagnosis of acute renal failure and the observation of the recovery phase.…”

“…Dear Sir, Wedge-shaped lesion on computed tom ography, which was regarded as indicative of patchy vasoconstriction, has been reported in the patients with acute renal failure due to nonsteroidal antipyretic drug [I], rhabdomyolysis [2] or hypotension [3], Wedge-shaped lesion on renal sonography has rarely been reported [4]. We report on a patient suffering from uterine cervical cancer who developed renal amyloidosis and rapidly progressive renal failure, associated with persistent wedged-shaped low-density lesions on renal sonography.…”
