Web-Based Tailored Psychoeducation for Breast Cancer Patients at the Onset of the Survivorship Phase: A Multicenter Randomized Controlled Trial

Abstract

Although the effectiveness was not demonstrated, a subgroup of women treated for breast cancer can probably be supported by the program. The results of the present study are a starting point for further development and use of the program.

“…After duplicate deletion, the titles and abstracts of the remaining 1,396 records were screened and 1,358 records that did not meet the inclusion criteria were excluded, retaining 38 studies as full‐text articles. Two reviewers screened the full texts independently, ultimately excluded 23 studies and retained 15 studies (Admiraal et al, ; van der Berg et al, ; Boele et al, ; Foster et al, ; Golsteijn et al, ; Lee et al, ; Bantum et al, ; Owen et al, ; Smith et al, ; Somers et al, ; Syrjala et al, ; Vallerand, Rhodes, Walker, & Courneya, ; Willems et al, ; Zhang et al, ; Zhu et al, ). Among them, 2 trials (Lee et al, ; Syrjala et al, ) were further excluded from the meta‐analysis for inappropriate data (using categorical variables instead of continuous variables) though results in Lee et al () showed improvement on fatigue and QOL, while results in Syrjala et al () showed statistically non‐significant effect on fatigue.…”
