Web-based ionic liquids learning media to measure the competence of the Polytechnic student

Abstract: The rapid development of technology and information has influenced students' learning styles and has led to a shift in information seeking from paper books to e-books. The purpose of this study is to measure the competence of students on the ionic liquid material, including ionic liquid knowledge, attitude, and skills, as well as website knowledge. The research sample is Chemical Engineering students in a private polytechnic in Indonesia and taken through a purposive sampling technique. This website-based lear… Show more

“…Ionic liquids are nonhomogeneous and nonaqueous liquids that are increasingly becoming industrially relevant . However, it is unlikely that undergraduate students will encounter these liquids in their current undergraduate curriculum, but there are initiatives in this direction . As ionic liquids are entirely made of ions, many of their properties are unlike traditional solvents.…”

“… 40 However, it is unlikely that undergraduate students will encounter these liquids in their current undergraduate curriculum, but there are initiatives in this direction. 41 As ionic liquids are entirely made of ions, many of their properties are unlike traditional solvents. We launched an inquiry-based laboratory module in our upper-division physical chemistry laboratory course to facilitate students’ knowledge in this area.…”

“…We provided 15 questions related to the sustainability aspect, such as the bamboo properties and ionic liquid concept. These questions are adapted from research conducted by Yulianti, Hamidah, Komaro, and Mudzakir (2021). This research has tried to apply the process of making ionic liquids to the learning of polytechnic students.…”
