ÖZ:Bu çalışmada Sarnıç Köy (Havran/Balıkesir) çevresindeki andezitlerin ayrışma-bozunma açısından bir değerlendirmesi yer almaktadır. Öncelikle inceleme alanına ait jeolojik ve meteorolojik özellikler özetlenmiş ve farklı ayrışma-bozunma derecelerindeki andezit kaya kütlelerinde ayrıntılı saha çalışmaları gerçekleştirilmiştir. Saha çalışmaları sırasında laboratuvar çalışmaları için farklı ayrışma -bozunma derecelerindeki andezitik kaya kütlelerinden temsili kaya blokları temin edilmiştir. Temin edilen kaya bloklarından mineralojik araştırmalar için ince kesitler ve laboratuvar çalışmaları için ise kaya örnekleri hazırlanmıştır. Daha sonra farklı ayrışma -bozunma derecelerindeki andezitlerin fiziksel ve mekanik özellikleri belirlenmiştir. Laboratuvar deney sonuçları istatistiksel olarak incelenmiş ve inceleme alanındaki andezitlere ait bir ayrışma -bozunma sınıflaması önerilmiştir. Önerilen ayrışma bozunma sınıflaması; tek eksenli basınç dayanımının görünür gözenekliliğe oranı olarak kabul edilen λ oranı (λ =σci/n), kızdırma kaybı (LOI) ve Schmidt Çekici geri sıçrama sayısı (SHV) gibi niceliksel verileri ve sahadaki kaya kütlelerinindokusal ve yapısal özellikleri gibi niteliksel verileri içermektedir. Önerilen sınıflama sisteminde verilenλ değerleri, farklı araştırmacılar tarafından andezitik kayaçlar üzerine gerçekleştirilmiş çalışmalardan elde edilen λ değerleri ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Sonuç olarak inceleme alanındaki andezitlerin endüstrideki olası kullanım alanları hakkında öneriler verilmiştir. Investigation of Andesites Exposed in the Vicinity of Sarnıç Village (Havran / Balıkesir) in Terms ofWeathering and Decomposition Process ABSTRACT: In this study, an assessment of andesites exposed in the vicinity of Sarnıç Village (Havran / Balıkesir) consists of their weathering -decomposition process. First of all meteorological and geological properties of the study area are summarized and detailed field studies are carried out in andesitic rock masses with different weathering grades. During field studies, representative rock blocks are obtained from each weathering grade of andesites for laboratory studies. Thin sections and rock samples are prepared from the rock blocks obtained. Then physical and mechanical properties are determined for each weathering grade of andesites. Laboratory test results are statistically analyzed and a weathering classification is proposed for the andesitic rocks in the study area. The proposed weathering classification includes quantitative data such as λ which is accepted the ratio of uniaxial compressive strength to apparent porosity (λ =σci/n), loss of ignition (LOI), Schmidt Hammer rebound value (SHV) and qualitative data such as textural and structural properties of rock masses in the field. The λ values given in proposed weathering classification are compared to the different λ values obtained from the studies executed by different researchers on andesitic rock masses.
