“…To analyse the cases of greatest reduction over the central region of RS, values of the TOC, O 3 mixing ratio, geopotential height, and zonal (U‐wind) and meridional (V‐wind) wind components were extracted from the CFSv2. These data were obtained by interpolation for 13 isentropic surfaces: 350, 365, 385, 410, 440, 485, 530, 575, 620, 670, 725, 785, and 850 K. These levels were chosen to represent some of the commonly used levels (L. Peres et al, 2013; Semane et al, 2006; Steffenel et al, 2016), in addition to other intermediate levels that provided an average distance close to 1500 m between each level. The duration of each event was also taken into account while the anomaly was below −7.5% (1.22× the average standard deviation for the entire period).…”
