Wear behavior of diamond-coated drawing dies

Abstract: Abstract:The failure behavior of diamond-coated die was investigated experimentally and analytically through finite element method (FEM) simulation in the present work. Diamond coatings were fabricated by straight hot filament chemical vapor deposition (CVD) passing through the interior hole of the drawing die using a mixture of hydrogen and acetone as source gases. The performance tests were made under real drawing condition. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used for the study of coating wear after die … Show more

“…In general, the die contour consists of three important zones: (1) the inlet zone, (2) the reduction zone and (3) the bearing zone. 2 With the conventional die, the low carbon tube can be deformed rapidly. The modified die can smoothen the deformation process and minimize the diameter shrinkage.…”

“…The criterion for the die change is the quality of the tube surface. 2 The drawing dies must be changed when the scratch appears on the tube surface. This defect on tube surface is unacceptable damage.…”

“…In coal mine safety production systems, humans making unwise decisions in uncertain situations due to their limited understanding can result in catastrophic accidents. Four specific manifestations of cognitive bias have been identified: representation bias, availability bias, overconfidence, and attribution bias [ 46 ]. Currently, the majority of research focuses on the outcome-driven bias [ 42 ].…”
