Аннотация. Статья посвящена репрезентации культа царя на монетах ряда правителей эпохи предэллинизма и эллинизма. Монета становится одним из главных средств пропаганды царского культа после того, как Александр Македонский на основе традиционных мотивов в чеканках Аминты III, Пердикки III и Филиппа II создал новый монетный тип, получивший широкое распространение в монетной типологии последующее время. Если во времена Александра существовал религиозный запрет на прижизненное изображение правителя на монетах, то диадохи окончательно преодолели его, расширив практику персидских сатрапов и ликийских династов. Образ Александра Великого стал ассоциироваться с портретом правящего в это время царя. Александр был увековечен эллинистическими правителями, и его изображения получили еще большее распространение чем при жизни. Диадохи превратили монету в яркое средство пропаганды культа правителя как харизматической личности и прославления его политических и военных достижений. Синкретизм образа царствующего правителя с Зевсом, Гераклом и другими героями и божествами, сопровождавшееся изображениями атрибутов божеств, получил широкое распространение в чеканках диадохов, которые изначально использовали почитаемый всеми образ Александра для легитимизации преемственности своей власти и подчеркивания ее божественного характера. Постепенно эллинистические правители заменили образ Александра на монетах своим собственным при сохранении общей иконографии. Однако впоследствии идеализированный стиль портрета правителя на монетах сменяет реалистичный стиль, что сделало еще более эффективным пропаганду культа царя и его успехов.
