“…To continue this work, future studies should deepen this investigation of how individuals make meaning of empowerment, especially when it is derived from experiences of the body and appearance that depend on being desired by others. By building a stronger foundation of knowledge about female sexuality, this information would help to reconcile contrasting viewpoints regarding empowerment and oppression and contribute to reducing the stigma around online sex work (Stutz et al, 2022).
