Abstract:A supercritical airfoil is geometrically optimized using the new developed adjoint compressible lattice Boltzmann method. Minimizing the drag coefficient and eliminating the shock wave on the supercritical airfoil surface are considered as the cost function with constraint of fixed lift coefficient.
