Water Quality Index of Well Water in the Converted Agricultural Land

Abstract: The groundwater condition at converted agricultural land has decreased water quality because of previous agricultural processes, so the water quality index is essential to know. This study aims to measure the groundwater quality index in residential wells on the converted agricultural land, determine the dominant parameters that form the Water Quality Index (WQI) in dug wells and drilled wells on the converted agricultural land, and determine the effect depth and age of wells on WQI. The research design was de… Show more

“…During 2013-2019 there was a conversion of land into buildings covering an area of 54,113 ha [6). In General, the conversion of agricultural land is a solution for farmers when they need money and the interest of family members in agricultural activities is low; that condition occurs because nonagricultural activities are more profitable [7] 2) Farm Protection 4) The capital for the establishment of regional food logistics will be used to provide infrastructure and operational facilities for the purchase of rice which was planned to be distributed to a food institution appointed as a food operator. As for the Facilities 5) Production facilities, especially subsidized fertilizers, are hoping for farmers, subsidized fertilizer to be submitted through the RDK/RDKK. Subsidized fertilizer helps farmers reduce expenses so that their farm income increases [9], according to [10], the government's decision to revoke fertilizer subsidies makes fertilizers expensive and hard to obtain, and the condition causes to be disappointed in the government.…”

“…The water quality parameters are often combined into a single value known as the water quality index (WQI), used to quantify the level of water quality [ 7 ]. The WQI has been widely used to assess and categorize the quality of both surface and ground waters [ 8 , 9 , 10 , 11 ]. An example of a water quality monitoring authority is the Malaysian Department of the Environment under the Ministry of Environment and Water.…”
