Water Quality in the Cultivation of Catfish (Clarias gariepinus) and Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) in the Aquaponic Biofloc System

Abstract: Aims: Water quality is one of them being an important role in terms of cultivation. Good water quality can support growth productivity in aquaculture. This is also of great concern when the rest of fish metabolism results that can contaminate fish contained in the maintenance media and if water is changed every day, water carrying toxins can pollute the area around the cultivation. One of the first steps to reduce the toxic content found in the maintenance media and the area around cultivation is to use aquapo… Show more

“…The dissolved phosphorous content of the water ranged from 2.56 ± 0.12 mg L -l to 3.95 ± 0.77 mg L -l (Table 6). The recorded data showed that the physiochemical parameters of the culture water were within acceptable values and in line with Hussain et al (2014), Ariffin et al (2019), and Zidni et al (2019 who had similar water quality. The water quality could have supported the growth rate of the fish especially as the water was changed daily.…”
