“…The impact of the PR alone on the efficiency is 0.055287211, which is smaller than those of the PR-ED, PR-IE, PR-SC, PR-PT, and PT-HM interactions. The impact of the ST [37] alone on the tourism ecological efficiency is 0.46481257, which is weaker than those of the ST-ED, ST-IE, ST-SC, ST-PT, ST-HM, and ST-PR interactions. The impact of the ET alone on the tourism ecological efficiency is 0.166998547, which is smaller than those of the ET-ED, ET-IE, ET-SC, ET-PT, ET-HM, and ET-PR interactions.…”

“…In this experiment area in Tarim River Basin, under the conventional N with maize, the soil sand content is large and the fertilizer retention ability is poor, which creates a high risk of NO 3 − –N leaching in this area (Zhang, An, et al, 2022; Zhang, Zeng, et al, 2022). According to the Xinjiang Statistical Yearbook, the use of chemical fertilizers (especially N) has been increasing (Feng et al, 2023). Zhang, Huang, et al (2021) and Zhang, Meng, et al (2021) found that the average N fertilizer input 378 kg N ha −1 , which was obviously higher than the national average.…”

“…The Tarim River Basin is a specific region in northwest China where agriculture is developing very fast (Huang et al, 2012) and cultivated land used increased from 4% to 11% from 2000 to 2019 (Li et al, 2022). Moreover, the energy input of fertilizers increased by 9.1 × 10 5 t from 1990 to 2019 (Feng et al, 2023). These bring great environmental challenges to intensive agriculture and raise concerns that the expansion of farmland may have negatively affected soil C and N balances in the Tarim River basin's fragile inland ecosystem.…”

“…However, only a limited number of studies have been conducted on the carbon-water-energy nexus in the agricultural sector [92,93] . Carbon, water, and energy are all indispensable parts of the production process of the agricultural sector.…”
