Abstract:The enzyme triosephosphate isomerase (TIM) performs a crucial role in the extraction of energy from glucose, doing so by converting dihydroxyacetone phosphate (DHAP) into glyceraldehyde phosphate, thereby doubling the yield of ATP molecules during glycolysis.
