“…As in the comparisons with Friis' recommendations, the scores for Practical Orientation differed here, and the item content might also contribute to this difference as Werbart's pro les are based on milieu therapy settings, in which the treatment perspective is oriented towards post-hospital functioning. The results in this study indicate that the optimal explorative pro le could not be found here, as neither the residents' nor the staff's perceptions were congruent with the pro le outlined by Werbart. A common nding in the research on ward atmosphere in hospital-based settings (26,29,31,32) and social environment in community-base d settings (17) has been the difference between the perceptions of staff and patients or residents. Staff perceptions are generally higher than those for patients or residents on all subscales except Staff Control, where staff rates lower levels.…”
