Vortex liquid phase in the p -wave ferromagnetic superconductor UCoGe

Abstract: The upper critical field for the field along the b-axis of the orthorhombic ferromagnetic superconductor UCoGe has a particular S-shape, akin to the re-entrant superconducting phase of URhGe.In order to explore the evolution of the superconducting phase under this transverse magnetic field, we report the thermal conductivity and resistivity measurements, revealing a possible field-induced vortex liquid phase, and supporting a field-induced change of the superconducting order parameter.

“…In the SC phase, rather isotropic behavior of κ/T was observed, presumably governed by the dominant isotropic impurity effect. More fascinating behavior 131) was recently reported in the determination of H c2 detected by from the resistivity (ρ) and thermal conductivity in a transverse field H b scan. As shown in Fig.…”

“…The concomitant features have led to the proposal of a field-induced vortex liquid phase coupled to a change in the SC order parameter. 131) The results indicate a possible change in the vortex liquid phase for H > 7 T associated with a rotation of the SC order parameter. Note also that the broadening of the resistive transition decreases by a factor of approximately 3 after the crossing of κ and ρ curves.…”

“…Liquid and solid vortex matters arose with high temperature superconductivity (HTS); see for example the review of Blatter et al [28]. Actually, these vortex states are quite general and vortex solid/vortex liquid transition has been observed in very different superconductors, for example: pnictides [29], organic superconductors [30] and p-wave ferromagnetic superconductor [31]. These two vortex matter regimes called the attention of many researcher and a plethora of new features have been identified in the HTS field, for example Bragg, Bose, and splayed glasses, disentangled, entangled liquids and so on [32][33][34][35][36][37][38][39][40].…”
