“…The concept of delusional parasitosis has a complex history with a multitude of different names being used over the years (Berrios, 1985;Trabert, 1995). Though Ekbom's name has become eponymously attached to the condition (Pethö & Szilágyi, 1970) his case series published in German in Acta Psychiatrica et Neurologica Scandinavica (Ekbom, 1938) has not previously been translated into English. The aim of this paper is to make Ekbom's paper accessible to English speakers and to provide a brief historical overview of the concept of delusions of infestation or delusional parasitosis.…”
