Das Ziel der Forschungen der letzten Jahre war darauf gorichtet, eine klare und eindeutige Abgrenzung auf dem Gebiete der Allergie zu erreichen. Wir verstehen heute unter Allergie nicht mehr allgemein eine veranderte Reaktionsf~higkeit des Organismus nach Krankheiten oder entsprechender Vorbehandlung, sondern lassen diese Bezeichnung nur noch fiir einen ganz bestimmten engen Kreis yon Erseheinungen gelten (Doesr, Kiimmerer). Offenbar gibt es eine besondore Disposition, die ffir das Auftreten allergischer Manifestationen Vorbedingung ist. Wir werden yon einer allergischen Disposition dann sprechen kSnnen, wenn wir unter Allergie die andersartige Reaktion der Haut auf Substanzen verstehen, die an sich nicht toxiseh wirken und bei Normalen keine Erscheinungen hervorrufen, tterkSmmlich rechnet man zu den allergischen Krankheitsbildern Asthma, Urticaria, Heufieber, Ekzem, Quinckesches ()dem.Es ist uns aufgefallen, dab es Individuen gibt, die offenbar in diesem Sinne allergisch sind, bei denen aber bestimmte Merkmale vorhanden sind, die sie innerhalb der grol3en Zahl yon Allergikern als besondere Gruppe yon Kranken kenntlish machen. Da es sich hierbei nicht um Symptome einer voriibergehenden Krankheit, sondern um Merkmale einer bestimmten Disposition handelt, so wahlen wir hierfiir die Bezeichnung ,,Stigmata". Die Zusammenfassung dieser Stigmata ]a/~t einen Dauerzustand erkennen, der als Status bezeichnet wird. Bei der Aufstellung dieser Gruppe ging JRost zuni~chst yon engen Zusammenhangen aus, die sich bei erwachsenen Kranken mit besonderen Hauterscheinungen mit der exsuda~iven Diathese ergaben (s. Rost [2]). Rost kam daher zu der Auffassung, da[J auf dem Boden der exsudativen Diathese nicht nur im Kindesalter krankhafte Erscheinungen an der Haut und anderen yore Ektoderm stammenden Organen auftreten kSnnon, sondern auch beim Erwachsenen.
