Understanding the effect of climatic variations in tree growth is fundamental in the scenario of climate change. The objectives of this work were to adjust allometric equations to estimate volume and aboveground biomass in a planted forest of Guanandi (Calophyllum brasiliense), a species that has a large potential to be planted in tropical regions because of its potential high growth and its wood quality and to evaluate the influence of meteorological monthly seasonality on its growth. Volumetric was well adjusted with Schumacher-Hall model, with good fit indicators (R²adj = 0.89 and Syx% = 9.74) and both for estimating the aboveground biomass and the plant compartments (leaves, branches and stem) the best fit model was Meyer's. The total wood volume obtained was 100 m3 ha− 1 and an average annual increment for the stand of 10.3 m3 ha− 1 year− 1 at 9.8 years of age. It was observed that the growth of C. brasiliense trees was influenced by meteorological seasonality, and the variation in its growth was better correlated with the subset of the variables maximum and minimum temperature, potential evapotranspiration, actual evapotranspiration and water deficit. From a practical point of view, the study shows that ongoing climate change is going to affect wood growth in this tropical region of Brazil, reducing the potencial of this tropical specie in Carbon sequestration.

The objective of this work was to carry out the adjustment of mathematical models to estimate volume through data obtained from the cube of trees and forest inventories with continuous plots, to generate the equations that best represent the production of Calophyllum brasiliense of a company located in the municipality of Dueré in the southern region of the state of Tocantins. The database is composed of plantations with an initial spacing of 4.0 x 2.0 meters, implanted in 2009. The adjustment of the models was carried out by evaluating the adjusted coefficient of determination (R²aj) and the standard error of estimate (Syx%), Coefficient of variation (CV%), in addition to the residual distribution graphs. The model that best fitted was the Meyer model (modified), with a value of R²aj = 0.97; Syx% = 1.14 and CV% = 80. The average value for volume was 66.2778 m3/ha.

The objective of the present study was to compare the volume estimates obtained by regression equations with artificial neural networks (RNA) for native areas under management plan in the Portel region, state of Pará, from the rigorous cubing data of 864 trees with DBH ≥ 45 cm from Annual Production Units (UPA) managed in 2015 in an area of dense ombrophilous terra firme forest. The data processing aimed to select the best regression model considering the UPA 1. The best performing equation was chosen according to the root mean square error in percent (RQME%), Pearson correlation and percentage residual graph. For the selection of the best network and its comparison with the best adjusted regression equation, the statistics used were: RQME%, Pearson correlation between observed and estimated volume and bias. The best performing model was the Spurr (V = ß 0 + ß 1 * dap²h), which was later compared with the best RNA obtained from data training. Both methods showed acceptable fit and precision statistics, with potential use to estimate the volume of the species. However, the RNA was higher showing higher precision in relation to the regression in volume estimation..
