Voltammetric Sensing of Caffeine in Food Sample Using Cu‐MOF and Graphene

Abstract: Cu‐MOF/graphene composite were obtained by solvothermal and electrochemical methods. The interaction and formation of Cu‐MOF/graphene (GE) composite was systematically studied with the support of various characterizations including X‐ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE‐SEM) and cyclic voltammogram (CV). The Cu‐MOF/graphene composite coated glassy carbon (GC) electrode exhibited good catalytic performance towards the electro‐oxidation of caffeine in neutral condition. The modi… Show more

“…00‐062‐1183). [ 22 ] The major peaks of Cu‐MOF disappeared after laser patterning and fingerprint peaks corresponding to the metallic Cu were noticed at the 2 θ value of 43.4 (111), 50.5 (200), and 74.2° (220). [ 11,23 ] Besides, the intensity of the Cu peak increases as the laser fluence increases, which could be attributed to higher amounts of Cu(II) reducing to the metallic Cu.…”

“…It is well known that graphene, as a star representative of 2D materials, is widely sought after because of its large specific surface area and high electrical conductivity [311] . In 2020, Venkadesh et al prepared Cu-MOF/graphene hybrids using solvothermal and electrochemical methods [312] .…”

“…It might be very important to measure CAF levels for quality control, health reasons and labeling regulations. Even when using the same coffee beans, several variables can affect how much CAF is extracted from them (Venkadesh et al 2021). Murugan and Dhamodharan demonstrated the use of DPV detection to quantify CAF in complicated samples, both selectively and separately (Murugan and Dhamodharan 2021).…”
