Voltammetric Determination of Aliphatic Phthalate Esters at a Hanging Mercury Drop Minielectrode and a Meniscus Modified Silver Solid Amalgam Electrode

Abstract: A new simple, fast and sensitive differential pulse voltammetric method was developed for the determination of different aliphatic phthalates. Dibutyl phthalate, diethyl phthalate, didecyl phthalate, and diallyl phthalate can be determined in 0.1 M tetramethylammonium bromide in methanol using a hanging mercury drop minielectrode and a meniscus modified silver solid amalgam electrode. Optimum conditions were found including concentration and composition of supporting electrolyte and solvent, scan rate, pulse a… Show more

“…Electrochemical methods including electrochemical sensors have been used as a powerful analytical tool for studying and determining PAEs due to their sensitivity, simplicity, low cost and easy sample miniaturization. [19][20][21][22][23][24] Azolla fern that is seen in still waters has small leaves with dark green or reddish-brown color and a length of 2.5 cm. It has symbiosis with the blue-green algae, called Anabaena that acts for assimilation and xation of atmospheric nitrogen.…”

“…SCE.Barek et al[146] developed a DPV method for four aliphatic phthalates (DBP, DEP, DDP, and DAP) at a hanging mercury drop minielectrode (HMDmE) and at m-AgSAE. They have optimized most important parameters such as supporting electrolyte (0.1M TMABr), methanol as solvent, pulse amplitude -50 mV, scan rate -20mVs -1 and pulse width 100 ms. Well-developed reduction peak of every individual phthalate on both electrodes was obtained.…”
