Voltage-mode universal filter for ZigBee using ±0.9V 32nm CNFET ICC-II

Abstract: This paper presents the realization of a CNFETbased low-voltage low-power inverting current conveyor (ICC-II) at 32nm technology node. The circuit operates using ±0.9V supplies and voltage & current bandwidths of approximately 5 GHz are achieved. The variation of power consumption with the number of carbon nanotubes in the channel is also explored. A voltage-mode universal filter, suitable for operation in the 868 MHz -2.4 GHz band used by ZigBee, is then introduced. The performance of both the ICC-II and the … Show more

“…Among these, carbon nanotube field effect transistors (CNFETs) have gained special interest because of their better electrical and mechanical properties [3], [4]. Some analog processing modules have already been designed using the CNFET technology [5]- [8] In this work, the application of the CNFET-based CCCII in the design of a voltage-mode universal filter is discussed. The circuit employs minimum number of passive components and no resistors.…”

“…In the last three decades the electronics industry has seen a remarkable miniaturization of transistor sizes with number of elements on an IC approximately doubling every [18][19][20][21][22][23][24] months. This could be reached due to innovation of new materials, like high-k dielectrics, various nitrides and silicides.…”

“…The port relations of inverting current conveyor are given in (4). The ICC-II is a very versatile building block and has been realized with carbon nanotube field effect transistor [21] The various parameters like diameter of CNT (D CNT ), threshold voltage (V th ) etc. have been considered in the design of CNFET-based devices.…”
