“…Despite the clinical success of IOLs, they have numerous limitations and potential complications, including IOL dislocation, suboptimal biocompatibility, inadequate accommodation, and poor visual outcomes. In the worst cases, irreversible blindness may result 21 . Thus, a new strategy for treating congenital cataracts using naturally regenerated lenses is highly desirable.…”

“…2,3,12 Many surgical techniques such as macular buckling and retinopexy with cryotherapy, diathermy or photocoagulation, PPV with temporary tamponade, and simplified gas injection have been attempted for the A, B). 19 Recent studies show that PPV with ILM peeling and primary silicone oil tamponade had a high retinal reattachment without any restriction of postoperative patient position and significantly improved postoperative BCVA. Macular hole closure was confirmed on optical coherence tomography (D).…”

“…Macular hole retinal detachment (MHRD) is a specific condition related to myopia, especially when posterior staphyloma is present, and is thought to be caused by tangential tractional force between the vitreous and the retina [1 -3]. This rare event has also been described in highly myopic eyes following phacoemulsification and IOL (intraocular lens) implantation, further suggesting the role of the vitreoretinal interface in the pathogenesis of this complication [4]. Vitrectomy with internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling has been shown to be an effective procedure to relieve macular traction over the detached retina, allowing successful treatment of RD induced by MH in highly myopic eyes [5].…”
