“…Consequently, H. graminicola (Group HL mean: 26% dry mass) matured with much higher lipid than P. pseudoannulata (Group HL mean: 19% dry mass). Second, as protein are also important for reproduction ( Barry and Wilder 2013 ; Romero et al 2019 ; Montoro et al 2021 ), a much higher protein demand for growth and too high lipid reserve at maturation may limit the amount of protein that H. graminicola could consume and further invest in egg production. Meanwhile, protein is not a big problem for egg production of female P. pseudoannulata with a much larger body to store more protein.…”
