“…Interestingly, the digestive enzyme applied in different animals was distinct. Collagenase II was used in mice and rats, whereas trypsin and collagenase II mixture was applied to cows ( 38 ) and pigs ( 39 ). With regard to poultry (such as chicken) ( 40 ), successive digestion of trypsin and collagenase II was carried out in the acquisition of cell suspension.…”

“…NAC (5 mmol/L) attenuated T-2 (8.10 nmol/L)-induced oxidative stress, apoptosis, and functional impairment in TM4 cells (testes-supporting cells) ( Yang et al., 2021 ). In isolated bovine testicular mesenchymal cells, vitamin E and selenium significantly upregulated GSH-Px, SOD, and CAT activities, thereby reducing oxidative damage to ameliorate T-2-induced germ cell toxicity ( Yang et al., 2022 ).…”

“…Fu et al found that ZEA can cooperate with LPS to increase the accumulation of ROS and malondialdehyde (MDA) in bovine mammary epithelial cells (MAC-T), and reduce their mitochondrial membrane potential, superoxide dismutase (SOD), and glutathione (GSH) levels, to aggravate cytotoxicity [ 74 ]. T-2 toxin exposure could cause oxidative stress–induced cytotoxicity by significantly reducing cell viability, increasing MDA levels, and reducing glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), SOD, and catalase (CAT) activity [ 75 ]. All these findings suggest that cellular oxidative stress is one of the modes of virulence induced by mycotoxins.…”
