“…Vascular smooth muscle cells and endothelial cells express receptors for 25(OH)D and could convert 25-hydroxyvitamin D3, the major circulating metabolite of vitamin D3, to 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (1,25(OH)2D) [21].
