Abstract

Vitamin D overdose Various toxicities: case reportA 2-year-old boy developed hypercalcaemia, kidney enlargement and hyperechogenicity of renal cortex secondary to vitamin D intoxication following an overdose of vitamin D [duraton of treatmet to reactions onset not stated; not all outcomes stated].The boy, who received excess vitamin D (overdose) [dosage, route and indication not stated] developed life threatening hypercalcaemia. He needed prolonged hospital stay, intensive therapy to reduce blood calcium, complex pharmacotherapy and haemofiltration.
