“…In this study, we documented a significant improvement in pain and functional outcomes in CTS patients with vitamin deficiency at 3 months posttreatment (vitamin D 3 supplementation along with initial standard treatment) compared with baseline as reflected by the changes in the VAS and Boston CTS questionnaire (SSS and FSS) score. The findings of our study are similar and in agreement with studies of Mohtashamkia et al 12 and Saçmaci et al, 24 and add to the literature supporting vitamin D supplementation, when deficient, in patients with CTS.…”

“…The study also documented that the mean nerve conduction velocity values improved from the baseline value of 27.02 ± 4.64 to 32.58 ± 4.54 after treatment. 12 Similarly, Saçmaci et al 24 in 50 female patients with mild and moderate CTS with vitamin D deficiency demonstrated that vitamin D 2 /D 3 (dose of 6000 IU/day or 50 000 IU/ week) treatment for 8 weeks followed by maintenance therapy resulted in significant improvement in pain and electrophysiological parameters after vitamin D replacement. In patients with mild CTS, the mean VAS score at baseline was significantly reduced from 6.64 ± 1.13 to 4.53 ± 0.69 after treatment (P < .001), whereas in moderate CTS, the mean VAS score at baseline also significantly reduced from 7.45 ± 0.69 to 6.64 ± 0.85 after treatment (P < .001).…”
