Vitamin D and aerobic capacity in patients with obesity: a systematic review

Abstract

Objective: analyze the relationship between Vitamin D levels and aerobic capacity in obese adults, through a systematic review registered in PROSPERO under ID CRD42022321595. Methods: 4062 articles were evaluated, with 06 meeting the criteria. Results: They indicate a association between high Vitamin D levels (≥ 30 ng/mL) and aerobic capacity, up to 4.7 Mets. This association is observed in both male and female adults with obesity. Conclusion: Data from this review suggest that there is an association between vitamin D levels and aerobic capacity in individuals with obesity.
