Visualization and bibliometric analysis of cAMP signaling system research trends and hotspots in cancer

Abstract: Cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) is an essential second messenger that widely distributed among prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms. cAMP can regulate various biological processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis and immune functions. Any dysregulation or alteration of cAMP signaling may cause cell metabolic disorder, immune dysfunction and lead to disease or cancer. This study aimed to conduct a scientometric analysis of cAMP signaling system in cancer field, and explored the re… Show more

“…At the same time, it can regulate the formation of fat and the distribution of lipid in adipose tissue, control the differentiation of adipocytes, and maintain the fat content in vivo (Ravnskjaer et al, 2015). The maladjustment of cAMP signaling pathway may lead to cell metabolic disorders and the occurrence of various diseases (Tang et al, 2021). In our research, a large number of DEGs were significantly enriched in this pathway.…”

“…Co-cited references not only present the core literature that plays a pivotal role in the evolutionary process within a field, but also unmask the changing trends in research priorities [ 37 ]. Figure 8(a ) presented the network visualization map of the 52 most co-cited references, which was equal or greater than 20 times.…”

“…It reveals the development status and changes in research in related fields and can be used for frontier analysis, field analysis, and scientific research evaluation. In addition, co-citations can provide advanced support and a theoretical basis for scientific decision-making ( 10 , 22 ). In this study, VOSviewer was used for co-citation analysis to screen out references that were co-cited more than 30 times.…”
