Bi 2 WO 6 tire-like microstructure assembled from 2D plates was synthesized by a simple one-step hydrothermal method using oleic acid as a green capping agent. Bi 2 WO 6 photocatalyst was capable of activating hydrogen peroxide to obtain high degradation efficiency in the photocatalytic process. The catalytic performance was found to be strongly affected by the parameter of H 2 O 2 dosage. Furthermore, the existence of hydroxyl radical in the reaction medium was verified using radical scavengers. The effective photocatalytic activity can be attributed to the visible-light-driven advanced oxidation processes.
