Viscoelastic potential-induced changes in acoustically thin films explored by quartz crystal microbalance with motional resistance monitoring

Abstract: for a net liquid-loading effect on resonator electrode. Therefore, as this value is larger the film deposited on resonator electrode is expected to be more rigid. The experimental results showed in this work points to this assumption. Viscoelastic state of acoustically thin films of poly(o-toluidine) were investigated through redox reactions, in different electrolytes and scan rates potential perturbations. Finally, viscoelastic changes of a relaxed POT and packed POT was compared. The viscoelastic aspects of … Show more

“…3). Several research groups have greatly contributed to the advanced use of concepts of QC admittance for the experimental assessment of raw data and their further modeling 3235 . The mass density of the viscoelastic layer expressed by the product of the specific gravimetric density and the thickness of the layer is one of the fitted parameters, in addition to its complex shear modulus.…”

“…Both processes (Figure S8 and S9) lead to the high ratios, indicator for the rigidity of the metallic / layer. 39 A slightly higher ratio is noticed for the film obtained by CV, which can be explained by / an electrodeposition method-dependent morphology leading to slight difference in hydrodynamic properties.…”
