Abstract:Photosynthesis originated from endosymbiosis of cyanobacterial‐like organisms, which ultimately became chloroplasts. It is an ancient process that has evolved to produce a variety of types of photosynthetic eukaryotic organisms that we find today, that is, terrestrial plants and aquatic algae.
