Virtual Worlds

Abstract: This article describes virtual worlds ( VW s) and a theory of virtual space and place ( VSP ) that explains the basic elements of VWs. VSP theory may thus be used to explain how individuals can work more effectively in virtual three‐dimensional spaces. It links the concepts of space, place, and presence and seeks to understand the relationships among them.
