Virtual metal model for fast computation of shielding effectiveness of blended electromagnetic interference shielding fabric

Abstract: Blended electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding fabric has an important application in the EMI shielding fields, but its shielding effectiveness (SE) computation remained unsolved. This study proposes a fast computation method which builds a virtual metal model according to fabric structure parameters to calculate the SE of the EMI shielding fabric. The above analysis involves the calculation of metal fiber content per unit volume of the EMI shielding fabric according to the structure of the fabric, follo… Show more

“…The above is an interesting phenomenon which is discovered for the first time. In existing density research of the EMS fabric [1 -4], metal fiber research [12,14,15,20,21] and related study review [23], they only proposed that the SE of the fabric was changed with the change of the density. However, they did not discover and reveal the law that the SE was not influenced by the change of the warp density and the weft density when the total density was the same.…”

“…Liu et al (2015a) and Wang et al (2015) further discussed the influence of the holes on the SE of the clothing fabric and pointed out the influence rule of the holes on the SE of the EMS clothing fabric in plane state. Other researches on the EMS clothing are mainly focused on the shielding performance, such as the shielding fiber performance (Vojtech and Neruda, 2013;Duan et al, 2019), identification and analysis of the shielding fiber in fabric (Liu et al, 2017b;Wang et al, 2017), influencing factors of the SE and the reflection performance (Li et al, 2019), the SE prediction (Yang et al, 2019) and the model construction (Wang et al, 2014;Liu et al, 2015b). In above literatures, researchers have done a lot of useful work in the design, manufacture and test methods of the EMS clothing, but there is little research on the influencing rules of the shielding performance of the sleeve.…”
