Although online shopping has been very popular recently, customers have some disadvantages such as the impossibility to try the product before buying. Owing to the recent technological advances, people can try on products to be purchased on a virtual mirror. Inspired by this situation, it has been developed a system which users can try handbags on a monitor and see different poses of handbags as if they wear them. Also, users can see different colors of handbags by saying the color that they want to see to the system. In this application, it is taken advantage of Kinect Sensor to follow user motions and hand skeleton joints which is placed on the bag. The voice command recognition is used which is based on correlation method.

Textile electronics addresses fibers or fiber assemblies with electronic functions to generate, transmit, modulate, and detect electrons. Interactive textile electronic devices may provide suitable platforms for virtual reality (VR)/augmented reality (AR) applications because of their excellent performance and unique immersive features such as lightweight, handiness, flexibility, comfort, and low strain even under high deformations. This paper presents a systematic review of the literature on the state‐of‐the‐art of interactive devices, fabrication technologies, system integration, promising applications, and challenges involved in textile‐based VR/AR systems.

This chapter deals with the problem of including motion cues in VR applications. From the challenges of this technology to the latest trends in the field, the authors discuss the benefits and problems of including these particular perceptual cues. First, readers will know how motion cues are usually generated in simulators and VR applications in general. Then, the authors list the major problems of this process and the reasons why its development has not followed the pace of the rest of VR elements (mainly the display technology), reviewing the motion vs. no-motion question from several perspectives. The general answer to this discussion is that motion cues are necessary in VR applications—mostly vehicle simulators—that rely on motion, although, unlike audio-visual cues, there can be specific considerations for each particular solution that may suggest otherwise. Therefore, it is of the utmost importance to analyze the requirements of each VR application before deciding upon this question.
