Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery in lung cancer staging

Abstract: Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) is a minimally invasive technique enabling a much more comfortable postoperative recovery. It can be a very useful approach in staging lung cancer addressing all components of TNM classification and, so, indicate the best therapeutic option in each case. In this article we describe the contribution of VATS in each of the components (T, N, M) and present some examples of our center.
