Vibrations of an Inertial Semi-Cylindrical Cushion

Abstract

In this study, free and forced vibrations of an inertial semi-cylindrical cushion are investigated. It is assumed that the motion of the inertial semi-cylindrical cushion is described by Lamé’s equations in displacements. The natural frequencies of vibrations and normal displacements of points on the inertial semi-cylindrical cushion are found. The influences of inertial properties and material parameters characterizing the inertial semi-cylindrical cushion are examined, and characteristic dependency curves are constructed
