“…An IR spectrum of complex 2 in CH 2 Cl 2 does indeed display medium-intensity absorptions at 1430 and 1434 cm -1 , which are nominally assigned to aryl C−C n stretching modes in the phosphine ligand and tend to be invariant between the free PPh 3 ligand and its coordination compounds .
