Abstract:Acoustic stimulation is a promising method for increasing drainage of non-Newtonian fluids through porous structures in various applications. In this study, a mathematical model is developed for unsteady flow of a bi-viscous incompressible fluid in a two-dimensional straight channel. Longitudinal vibrations are superimposed on the flow driven by pressure gradient along the channel. Simulations are carried out for a range of relevant dimensionless parameters. Effects of vibration amplitude, frequency, fluid vis… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
