Vibration Analysis of Rolling Element Bearings Defects

Abstract: In this work, vibration analysis of rolling element bearings (REBs) defects is studied. The REBs are the most widely used mechanical parts in rotating machinery under high load and high rotational speeds. When the defect in a rolling element comes into contact with another element surface, an impact force is generated which is resulting in an impulsive response of the bearing. A defect at any element of the REB transmits to all other elements such as outer race, inner race, ball and, train cage of the bearing.… Show more

“…Therefore, the industrial vibration analysis is regarded as an important measurement tool for identification, prediction, and prevention of failures in rotating machinery. [1][2][3] For this reason, implementing vibration analysis on the machines can improve the machine efficiency and reliability. Usually, the measurement vibration involves accelerometers to measure the vibration, and then, the data can be collected for further analysis.…”

“…This paper discusses about the fault dignosis of the bearing. [1] , In most of the rotating machinery the most important mechanical components to take into account is the bearing. Rotating machinery designs are complex and have numerous components that could potentially fail, majority of failure components rely on the Bearing.…”

“…One of the most effective methods used for condition monitoring of the Bearing is vibration spectrum analysis. [1] Revised Manuscript Received on October 10, 2019 Sham Kulkarnia, S.B.Wadkar [2] , When the machine component start rotating, the connected bearing rotates and bearing element i.e. balls rolls on the bearing races, forces between these intersecting structural elements will produce vibrations and rolling resistance, which in turn lead to noise, wear.…”
