Abstract

Introduction: The formation of new blood vessels from pre-existing vessels is called angiogenesis. In the progression of cancer, this process is driven by the overexpression of proangiogenic factors, creating a local imbalance in relation to antiangiogenics, therefore, although tumors have the capacity for growth and progression, even when associated with inefficient supply and the condition of hypoxia, the distribution of drugs and their local effectiveness are also reduced. Growth factors play a role in regulation together with their receptors expressed in endothelial cells and in some neoplasms, maintaining the regularization of blood flow and oxygen supply. Objective: To describe tumor dependence on angiogenic mechanisms and their molecular relationship. Methods: This is a study based on a systematic literature review.
