Vesikelbildung aus reaktiven Tensiden

Abstract: Zwitterionische Geminivesikel: Alkylphosphothioate und N‐(2‐Bromethyl)‐N,N‐dimethylalkylammonium‐Tenside reagieren quantitativ in wässriger Pufferlösung zu zwitterionischen Geminitensiden.

“…Fatty acids and fatty alcohols serve as typical examples of molecules with self‐assemply capabilities that can spatially orient neighboring molecules. Phospholipids in the cells of modern organisms as well as amphiphilic zwitterionic gemini surfactants3, 4 also show these characteristics.…”

“…These reactions include rudimentary photosynthesis, as well as the generation of RNA and protein monomers, followed by the synthesis of templating molecules in the interior space of vesicles 1. In this context, it is widely believed that the design of an artificial cell, namely a highly simplified version of a biological cell, might be achievable in the near future4, 83 as an imaginable goal 46. If these predictions are right, we should be hearing about some dramatic findings very soon.…”

“…[21,22] Second, even though the lipid mixtures used by Mansy et al [4] are an improvement with respect to earlier systems that only used single types of FAs, more work will certainly have to be devoted to membrane and vesicle reproduction processes. [23,24] Finally, it is important to recall that the template, the primer and the (activated) nucleotides used by Mansy et al [4] are chemically complex, nota bene optically active, and it will be a big challenge to 1) either convincingly demonstrate that a prebiotic synthesis of nucleotides and oligonucleotides is possible, or 2) to find alternative, chemically simpler molecular systems with similar properties. [25] Figure 1.…”
