“…As shown in the inset of Figure 3d, after soaking CNTs/HNC‐800 in the Li 2 S 6 electrolyte solution for several hours, the yellowish color of Li 2 S 6 completely diminishes, while it only slightly fades for CNTs sample. Consistent results are also observed in the UV‐vis absorption spectra, as evidenced by the disappearance of the strong absorbance peak of Li 2 S 6 solution centered at about 420 nm [42–44] after the addition of CNTs/HNC‐800. These observations confirm that CNTs/HNC‐800 shows a strong adsorption ability towards polysulfides, which is beneficial to enhancing the operation stability of Li‐S batteries.…”

“…Generally, combining with the chemical vapor deposition (CVD), LDHs are enriched in nitrogen element by the pyrolysis of ZIF which helps to absorb lithium polysulfides. Applying this method, Zhang et al [34] prepared hollow polyhedral NiCoZn LDHs through ZIF-67 tightly and uniformly embedded on carbon nanofibers (CNFs). The structure offered a favorable mechanical robustness and 3D long-range conductivity for sulfur electrochemical reactions.…”

“…Since "polysulfide catalysis" is a relatively new concept, the exploration of more catalyst candidates with high activity and low cost, as well as a more efficient catalytic polysulfide conversion is a priority area of research. Currently, various transition metals are widely used to speed up the electrochemical reaction rates, according to results from Li-S battery [19][20][21][22][23]. For instance, wang's group reported that monodisperse cobalt atoms embedded in grapheme can trigger the surface-mediated reaction of Li polysulfides since the Co-N-C coordination center serves as a bifunctional electrocatalyst.…”
