“…Non-squamous cell carcinomas of the larynx are rather uncommon. The world literature has reported other histological types of malignant epithelial tumours or variants, such as adenocarcinoma (Toomey, 1967;Cady et al, 1968;Adams and Duvall, 1971;Dogra, 1973;Komorn et al, 1973;Whicker et al, 1974), adenoid cystic carcinoma (Ash et al, 1964;Cady et al, 1968;Dallachy, 1969), mucoepidermoid carcinoma (Cady et al, 1968;Muratti, 1969;Thomas, 1971), adenosquamous carcinoma (Gerughty et al, 1968;Ferlito, 1976), verrucous squamous cell carcinoma (Kraus and Perez-Mesa, 1966;Biller et al, 1971;Olofsson and van Nostrand, 1972;Bak and Erdos, 1975;Ferlito et al, 1976), spindle cell carcinoma (Lane, 1957;Sherwin et al, 1963;Appelman and Oberman, 1965;Davies, 1969;Ferlito and Babighian, 1972), malignant mixed tumour (Sabri and Hajjar, 1967;Ferlito, 1970), oat cell carcinoma (Olofsson and van Nostrand, 1972;Ferlito, 1974a;Benisch et al, 1975;Gelot et al, 1975). However, a case of anaplastic giant cell adenocarcinoma of the larynx has never been reported.…”
