Ventral Stabilization for Atlantoaxial Subluxation in Six Dogs

Abstract: SUMMARYVentral stabilization using Kirschner's pins and methylmethacrylate (bone cement) was conducted in six dogs with atlantoaxial subluxation.After the operation the cervical pain disappeared and the walking ability was significantly improved in all cases without recurrence.The reduction of the atlantoaxial joint was easily performed, and the respiration was stable during the operation.No distinct clinical post surgical signs appeared except for loosening of the tightened pins in one of 6 cases 45 days afte… Show more
