Vehicular Channel in Urban Environments at 23 GHz for Flexible Access Common Spectrum Application

Abstract: With the development of the vehicular network, new radio technologies have been in the spotlight for maximizing the utilization of the limited radio spectrum resource while accommodating the increasing amount of services and applications in the wireless mobile networks. New spectrum policies based on dynamic spectrum access technology such as flexible access common spectrum (FACS) have been adopted by the Korea Communications Commission (KCC). 23 GHz bands have been allocated to FACS bands by the KCC, which is… Show more

“…Ray-tracing is a deterministic method that is widely used because of its high accuracy, particularly because electronic waves exhibit an obvious mechanism of reflection at high-frequency bands. Numerous works have used this method to analyse various scenarios, such as the works on vehicle-toinfrastructure (V2I) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) scenarios in [17,18], and the works on the intra-waggon environment for 5G between 25 and 40 GHz in [19]. The RT method is a channel modelling method with high accuracy and it was widely used and validated in the communication simulation in the existed environment.…”

“…Table summarizes electromagnetism (EM) parameters of the involved materials, where εr is the real part of the relative permittivity, tanδ is the loss tangent, and S and α are the scattering coefficient and scattering exponent of the directive scattering model (Degli‐Esposti et al, ; Wang et al, ). Particularly, parameters of the wood and concrete are calibrated (Wang & Sarabandi, ).…”
