“…Maximum B: C ratio in the interaction of early planting and closer spacing maybe because of higher yield, thereby increasing the monetary returns, whereas low yield per hectare might be the reason for comparatively low returns, thereby lower the ratio of benefit to cost. The result was in agreement with the findings of Devi et al, (2008) and Misra et al, (2015).…”

“…The higher yield of onion with close spacing was earlier reported by which is similar to our observation; however, reported higher bulb yield with wider spacing (Sikder et al, 2008;Jilani et al, 2010;Mekonnen et al, 2017;Chanu et al, 2022;Mazumder et al, 2019). The effect of different spacing on the growth parameters of onion was earlier reported by and others, confirmed their findings through the extent of difference in different traits different from them (Kahsay et al, 2013;Misra et al, 2014;Islam et al, 2015;and Derajew et al, 2017). In the different nitrogen doses tried, the highest value of growth traits namely number of leaves, leaf length, pseudostem length, and plant height were obtained with the application of 150 kg N/ha.…”

“…It is an accepted fact that weather conditions play major role in production and productivity of agricultural crops. The wide variation in planting dates of onion among regions shows effect of environment on onions' growth and yielding capacity (M. Ali, 2016;Misra et al, 2014;Navaldey & Ram, 2014).…”
