The goal is to assess the development of potato and vegetable growing and their impact on the state of domestic and regional agricultural markets, to formulate proposals for stabilizing and improving the situation in the near future. Methods – comparative analysis, economicstatistical and structural approaches. Results – the authors note that in order to achieve the required level of food security, it is necessary to increase the volume of cultivation of these products in large agricultural enterprises, which will contribute to the growth of commercial production of vegetables and potatoes of proper quality. The state and potential of vegetable and potato farms, their regional characteristics, formation of vegetable market, and state support for vegetable growing industry at the national level are considered. The issues of regulating cultivation and sale of vegetable products are analyzed, the level of its consumption in the constituent entities of the Republic of Kazakhstan and factors determining it are shown. Monitoring of the areas of potatoes grown in open ground, tools and mechanisms for stimulating their expansion, the share of gross potato harvest for all categories of farms in the republic, the dynamics of prices of agricultural producers and consumer prices was carried out. Taking into account the scientific views and opinions of researchers, analysis of the category “sustainable development” is presented. Conclusions – it is necessary to carry out reclamation measures related to the involvement of agricultural land in circulation for vegetable and potato growing, increase in state support for agricultural producers, as well as funds to reimburse part of costs incurred for production of greenhouse vegetables, and technical re-equipment of production facilities. The implementation of investment projects is important, which will make it possible in the medium term to achieve complete food independence for vegetables and potatoes and ensure an acceptable price environment for their producers and consumers.

The purpose of research was to determine the peculiarities of the action of Epin-extra, NPK+Epin-extra, Heteroauxin, NPK+Heteroauxin on the yield and chemical composition of onions in the conditions of the southern forest-steppe zone of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The novelty of the research comprises because for the first time in the conditions of the southern forest-steppe zone of the Republic of Bashkortostan the experiments with the participation of a new variety of Bashkirian selection - Iglinsky 2. Onion yield of the studied varieties Strigunovsky local, Red Baron and Iglinsky 2 in variants with different nutrition backgrounds was higher than in the control by 0.64-9.34 tonnes/ha. The amount of dry matter in varieties Strigunovsky local and Red Baron was higher than normal in all nutrition backgrounds. The maximum yield of onion was formed in Iglinsky 2 variety on the background of Heteroauxin application - 60.5 tonnes/ha or 116.57% in comparison with the control. The presence of weak negative correlation between yield and average daily temperature regime (r = -0.276) was established. A positive correlation between yield, precipitation sum (r = 0.481) and Heteroauxin (r = 0.470) was found. We can use the research results in cultivation of onion in the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Russian Federation, is of interest for foreign researchers-breeders.

“…The problem is solved by the fact that in seed production of heterotic hybrids, seeds of only female lines are used, and part of the seedlings grown from seeds of female lines of seedlings are physiologically transferred to male-type plants by compacted seeding, 2-3 seeds are thickened in a pot instead of one plant as for female plants, and in the phase 5-6 leaves of the seedling period (age 15-20 days) (stage 5-7 of organogenesis) seedlings with signs of the male type are planted as male plants for crosses as pollinators according to the accepted placement scheme according to the ratio of female and male plants, while the prepared seeds of the female line are sown one at a time in a pot with a volume of 0.4-0.5 liters at an angle of 40-50 degrees down with the sharp end to a depth of 0.8-1.5 cm, and the seeds planned for transfer to male plants are sown thickened in pots at a distance of 2-3 cm between them. At the same time, sowing of seeds converted to the male type of flowering is carried out 7-15 days earlier than seeds for growing female plants, and when growing hybrids from seeds of female lines in plantings on 3-5 female plants, one plant is planted, converted to the male type according to the proposed method [10,17].…”

Increasing the efficiency of seed production of heterotic cucumber hybrids is the most important task of protected soil vegetable growing. In recent years, modern heterotic cucumber hybrids have almost completely replaced conventional varieties due to higher economically valuable traits. The article presents experimental data on the study of biological and morphological features of cucumber baselines for the production of heterotic hybrids, as well as new agrotechnological methods of growing seedlings, which reduce the economic costs of obtaining pure cucumber lines. As a result of studying the initial maternal lines, it was found that for the development of the aboveground and underground parts of the plant, it is necessary to use ℓ-80 and ℓ-154 to successfully obtain seeds. To get more male flowers when growing seedlings of maternal lines, it is necessary to sow 2 seeds in each pot at a distance of 2-3 cm. In the course of research, a unique method for obtaining male flowers has been developed by changing the density of the standing of the mother cucumber plants (application for patent of the Russian Federation No. 2023131502 dated 11/28/2023).
