Vectorized dataset of roadside noise barriers in China using street view imagery

Abstract: Abstract. Roadside noise barriers (RNBs) are important urban infrastructures to ensure that cities remain liveable. However, the absence of accurate and large-scale geospatial data on RNBs has impeded the increasing progress of rational urban planning, sustainable cities, and healthy environments. To address this problem, this study creates a vectorized RNB dataset in China using street view imagery and a geospatial artificial intelligence framework. First, intensive sampling is performed on the road network o… Show more

“…In earlier practice of GIScience, the automation of space subdivision with database attribution and geometric modelling conceives the real world, in addition to the perceptual dimensions of humanities as well [for example 16,17,18]. The current practice extends neural cognition of human-like robot in liveable geographic contexts that merges virtual reality with reality in cyberspace [for example 19,20,21,22,23]. In parallel, the artificial intelligence of computing architectural space flips the process from topologic space configuration to realized geometrical forms of shape grammar [for example 24,25,26,27,28,29].…”

“…Superconducting materials should be used as much as possible to reduce electricity loss and improve power generation efficiency [85]. If grid-connected power generation is adopted, the rational layout of the grid connection point must be considered, ensuring that the voltage and current of the photovoltaic module's seriesparallel connection system match the inverter while also ensuring that the cable length and line loss achieve the best cost-effectiveness ratio [86].…”

“…Currently, urban construction in China is in a phase of rapid development. Studies on urban information acquisition are constantly emerging and being improved with the support of new technologies such as artificial intelligence, which provides new opportunities for the establishment of refined urban measurements 28 31 . To address the main data and computational bottleneck generally experienced in city-level estimations, an accurate method of obtaining rooftop areas at the scale of an entire large country is crucial.…”
